When it comes to finding the perfect office space, few understand the art and science better than Kontor's own, Jack Fryer. We were lucky enough to find Jack fresh from Uni, while we ourselves were still in our early days. He quickly became our first hire, and 9 years later, we’ve not looked back. In that time, he has spent endless hours working with some amazing companies, inspiring environments that foster collaboration, creativity, and growth.

Jack moved from Surrey to London to study Real Estate at Kingston University, followed by a Master’s in Real Estate Development at Westminster University. In 2015, fresh out of his Master’s program, Jack joined Kontor. Over the years, he’s played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s ethos and helping it become a trusted partner for businesses navigating the complexities of office moves. Today, he’s based in Peckham, channeling his expertise to redefine workspaces for a post-COVID world.

Jack describes his role at Kontor as a Real Estate Solutionist, a title that perfectly encapsulates his approach to the challenges of the modern workplace. “Post-COVID, with rapidly changing ways of work, businesses face difficult decisions,” he explains. “I guide them through this journey by leveraging my day-to-day experience and insights from other forward-thinking companies tackling similar challenges.” His ability to craft tailored solutions has earned him a reputation as a problem-solver who doesn’t just find offices, but creates environments where businesses can thrive.

For Jack, an office needs to be more than just a functional space; it’s a hub of energy and creativity. “You want a place you enjoy coming into,” he says. “I love environments with a buzz, spaces that inspire and attract people. Post-COVID, we’ve seen many clients opting for more exciting designs to draw their teams back in.” With a particular appreciation for buildings with character, such as converted warehouses or restored period properties, he says his favorite is the iconic 17 Broadwick Street in Soho, designed by the late Richard Rogers. “I was lucky enough to let this building off-market in 2022, just as the market was recovering post-COVID. It was a special project, and every time I’m nearby, I proudly remind people, ‘I let that.’”

Jack equates his fulfillment in this role to the diversity in his clients and the industries he gets to work with. “Every client is different,” he shares. “It’s fascinating to learn about their businesses, meet incredible and inspirational founders, and play a key role in helping them find their new home. Over the years, many of these clients have become friends, making each project even more enjoyable.” From global powerhouses like Mailchimp and XL Records to innovative startups like Pension Bee, he has a track record of delivering results that exceed expectations.
